                Bio-Security Policy 2010

1)  All visitors to the site are made aware of the Riverfield Bio-Security policy.

2)  All fish held in the registered sites below, are produced by Riverfield Fish Farm.

a)  Borden Farm, Headcorn

b)  Church Farm, Ulcombe

c)  The Weald of Kent Golf Course, Headcorn

d)  Riverfield Fish Farm, Marden

3)  All vehicles suspected of being involved in aquiculture or commercial fishing must be disinfected at the disinfection point before entering the site.

4)  Only Riverfield staff are permitted to handle fish and associated equipment.

5)  The Hatchery (when operational) is off limits to all staff and visitors unless authorised by Simon Hughes.

6)  All equipment used to catch, handle, grade or count fish are disinfected between batches and left in disinfectant over night.

7)  No fish are stocked out across the farm without the permission of Simon Hughes or Jason Dorkings.

8)  Riverfields' transport vehicles are disinfected at the disinfection point when returning from a delivery of fish.

9)  All fish mortalities, however small, must be reported to Simon Hughes or Jason Dorkings.

10)   When entering the hatchery the foot dip and hand disinfectant provided must be used.

The above policy is in place to protect this farm and the industry from parasites and serious fish diseases.
